Astoria, Queens; many of cinema history’s celebrated movies and tv shows were filmed here and as such, it is the ideal setting for Scotch and Cookies.
Situated a mere 15 minutes from midtown Manhattan, where Far From Finished Game Studios HQ is located, the middle-class neighborhood provides a relatively quiet place of residence for both John ‘Cookie’ Dutch and Eugene ‘Scotch’ Essig. Though the only reason that they could live in the more quiet and suburbian 39th street, is because John invested a significant sum of the money he won in a mobster pokergame into the living arrangements of both him and Eugene’s family.
This is our favorite band Spock’s Beard (in classic line-up, you guys rock!) who originally released the song ’39th Street Blues (I’m Sick)’ in 2004. It is a song about a prostitute going nuts near East 39th street which connects to Bryant Park, where – ironically – Far From Finished HQ are located.
